Cannot scrape

preliminary note: I am running SPMC (Kodi 16) on several android-TV-devices, because official Kodi seems to have problems with smooth video-playback on all my Android-TV devices.

Problem:
TVDB-Scraper seems to have extreme problems on SPMC recently. 
It worked flawlessly when I set up the devices a few weeks ago, but recently it hardly scrapes anything (among ~60 Tv-Shows, "Beverly Hills 90210" is the only one being scraped).

On my windows-devices and Android-Mobile-devices, running lates official Kodi (17), all shows are being scraped correctly. 

Anyone else observed this, maybe even know a solution?

Linux - TV season art work help

Can someone please help, I've just made the full jump to using LibreElec running Krypton v17.6 with Aeon Nox as my default skin.

Everything is now setup, but I can't seem to find the option that let's me select the season art work on my TV shows.

I can set the banner, poster, background and thumbnail.

However there isn't an option to see the season art work, which I was previously able to do on OpenELEC running Jarvis and Aeon Nux as my default skin.

Whislt all the season have an image as standard the first option, which allows you to play all seasons just shows as a folder and its a little annoying.

If anyone can help with this little annoyance I would be grateful

content listing problem

hi all im not sure if this is a universal problem or not but i run a home media server with my tv shows stored on it.

i use the xbox one version of kodi and i connect via sftp or network browser.

every so often ill have a split episode that has been joined into one file and it messess up things ive encountered two problems.

the episode list is out of order - could also be a problem with file names

second problem I've encountered is on occasion an episode is not listed and i have to navigate the file system and play the missing files that way.

what i was wondering is, is there a way to get kodi to recognise feature length episodes and update the listing as required?

Universal movie scraper - IMDb cast not shown

Hello,

I have a problem with scraping credits information from IMDb. 
My Universal movie Scraper addon is set up as followed: for 'credits - cast' I use 'IMDb'. 
But lately when I add a new movie to my library some actor 'roll playing' names are missing, not the reall name but the name they play in the movie. 
Like you probably know, when you go to the IMDb website, some of those names are blue (and u can click on it) and some of those names are black. Only those black names aren't visible in kodi. 
When I use in the addon the function 'IMDbFull' all the 'roll playing' names, black and blue, are shown in kodi. But I'm not intressted to have the full cast list in my kodi library. 
Why doesnt it works when I select 'IMDb'? It used to work that way for years...

Can someone help me out here please? 
I would be very thankfull!

Universal Movie Scraper - Language Settings.

I'm using this scraper from time, and I really like it.
There is however a minor problem, that is related to the settings of language options.
Suppose that you like to get informations (all informations, in a given language (IT) for example). I really like
to have a SINGLE point of configuration in the preferences of the scraper to do it. Not in more than 10 places.
Another, maybe better way, is to take as the default language for everything inside the scraper the language of
the kodi interface (if it is possibile programmatically to get info about it). 
The idea, is that users tipically likes movie title in their language, covers in their language, etc. etc. And eventually
if someone do not like this, can change/override the single option. While the single global option affect in a single
point all language related configuration.

Added a TV show, nothing is making it work.

I have multiple TV shows in Kodi that all work perfectly fine. So I assumed when adding a new one, it would be painless, I was wrong. I've spent hours trying to get this crap to work with absolutely no luck, so here I am out of desperation. The problem is, I'm doing exactly what I've done for other shows, and for some reason it works for those, but not this one. I just got the Batman animated series collection on bluray and I've copied the disc to my computer, but nothing is getting it to show up in Kodi. If I go into the files, I can find it there, but I can't find it the normal UI. I've included a screen shot showing how the files are formated, and even show how my other shows are that work perfectly fine, and you can see those aren't even the same. So any help would be great.

Android - Using DVD Order TheMovieDatabase

Hi there,
I have a couple problems with kodi. I have it installed on my amazon firetv, I think it's the latest kodi android build.

1) I use TheMovieDB.org for all my movies and tv shows. Now I have encountered a problem: I can't find the setting to activate using DVD order. If I switch to tvdb there the option is present, but I really don't like using different scrapers.
2) IF your suggestion is just using tvdb I have a different problem with that: For shows that I scrape with tvdb it shows me next to the tv show entry the runtime, shows I scrape with moviedb it shows the year of release (which I highly prefer!!).
3) Another problem I encountered is that for many tv shows it won't show me the rating, instead it shows "0.0". For some shows it shows a rating for the show, but "0.0" for the episodes, for other shows its the other way around and for some it presents me with "0.0" for everything. But that's a minor problem.

The first 2 mentioned problems are way more important to me. If one or the either can be resolved I'd be super happy. Thanks for all ideas!

Solved - Kodi does not add the TV Show in my library

I have a TV series called ...M'Fal Për Shprehjen in my PC and this afternoon I added that show in The TVDB (it took me a few hours to add all the infos), so I can have it in my Kodi library together with all other TV Shows, instead of playing it on other media players.

When I name the folder as ...M'Fal Për Shprehjen, Kodi doesn't recognize it from The TVDB, however when I rename it as M'Fal Për Shprehjen, I see Kodi finding the series, but after finishing 'Update library' query, nothing happens and that show is not added at my library. I have no idea what to do to fix that as I renamed the folder in my PC and series in The TVDB as M'Fal Për Shprehjen and M'Fal Per Shprehjen, restarted Kodi several times and checked settings of media library and it seems ok to me.

TheTVDB excessive scraping

Hi @scudlee

I have been trying to re-add Battlestar Galactica (2003) back into my library using local artwork and NFO Files.

For some reason TheTVDB scraper is hijacking the scan. I have ended up with a log that has over 2.7 million lines of the TVDB downloading the episode guide.

I have been able to repeat this three times. Obviously can't upload the log to pastebin, but I have zipped it here... https://ufile.io/6o8fu

Scan eventually completes after approx 10 minutes and everything looks in order in the library.

If I remove the <episodeguide> URL from the tvshow.nfo file, the scan completes normally in approx 30 seconds.

Any idea what is causing this?

Trying to scrape 2001 A Space Odyssey to my library, seems to be tripping up the movie db scraper.

However in this version of Kodi it does not give you the option to manually type a movie title to search for, it just fails on "No information found"

Videos appear under video but not in TV shows

I am a newbie and I seem to have run into an interesting problem.

I have ripped my DVD set for the TV show "once upon a time" to digital and added it to my TV folder on my hard drive like I have done for all my other series.

I updated the kodi video library and if you look under video \ files you can find it by selecting its folder and it appears properly.

When I choose TV SHOWS from the kodi menu it does not appear there with my other shows.

Why would it a appear in one location and not the other?

Any help is appreciated.

I am running KODI V15.2 isengard with the confluence skin.

When I view the TV Shows in Files, they show up with the correct name and file size, just without info a scraper would provide (i.e. plot, poster). When I try to view my TV shows by way of TV Shows-> Title, I only get the names of the shows. When I click on one of the shows, I get nothing. I've tried this both with TVDB scraping and local info only (with nfo files). I've updated the library, changed the content type and removed/re-added the source of the TV shows, but to no avail.

n00b Question - What if I Don't Want to Scrape. Can I Still Have Images with NFO?

Hello,

I searched for an answer for this and found some people saying you either need to scrap, or you need an NFO for Kodi to work.

I'm just wondering, if I don't want to scrape, and I just want a simple, barebones graphic interface to play files. No show descriptions, actors, season images, etc.. Just Show, Fanart, and Poster.

Can I just add the relevant "fanart.jpg", "poster.jpg" to each show's folder, or must I insert a "tvshow.nfo" file? If so, can I simply add the show name in the TITLE tag and be done with it and have it work?

Music Videos wont scan to library

Hi,

sorry for bad english.

I have a problem with Main Menu "Music videos"

I added <artist> in all of my Music Video nfo File like this:

When i go from Main Menu to Music Video/artist, i see the list of Videos from the artist, but no pictures, no plot text. I tried it with all versions in View Options. Must i install a special Addon?

Missing Actors

Having a weird issue with TV show information screens. Not sure if this is even the right place to ask, so I apologize in advance should the root cause be something else.

So, as you know the TV show info screen has the cover on the left and on the top right there have always been the actors associated with the show or episode. Now something has changed that. Instead of the actor overview, just the TV show banner is shown in that space. When I refresh the show from the internet the actors come back. I have the feeling that in an unspecified interval they are being replaced again by a banner. It hasn't happened recently, though.

Is this something that is known and maybe there's a setting for it which I haven't understood? As far as I can see, I have no other add-ons which deal with artwork.

Missing Posters and Descriptions on TV Series

Good morning.
Recently I migrated contents from an older version of Kodi to the new 18 RC. The platform is a QNAP NAS (under the enviroment myHD Ubuntu 18.04)
I made an export of my old library, then I imported it to the new KODI version, but this import was stopped before its end by mistake. After some minutes I launched the library import again over the previous one and it completed succesfully.
Result: Now I am not seeing Posters and Descriptions anymore on several TV shows in the main list (it says "no information available", BUT if I enter inside the show page, I see everything.
I tried to clean the library, to remove the source in the library and then to add it again, but it is the same like before.
For example: let's consider one of the TV shows affected by the problem: "Almost Human".

Into the Dark not scraping

I have a TV series (Hulu) on my server called Into the Dark, that releases 1 episode per month.

I added it in October, it scraped fine. Poster, info, episode etc...

Added the last 2 episodes yesterday. I used filebot as always to rename with, but it will not scrape, just doesn't show up. So I tried a refresh to rescrape the whole folder and it keeps asking me to type in as name to search because can't find it. I checked the tvdb and it is there and spelled correctly. It found it before, now it can't for some reason.

Any ideas why?

Win - Library not finding movie, naming issue solved

I had a couple of movies that the library was not finding, one in particular was The Polar Express. I felt I had it named correctly, as I copied/pasted the file name from the movie database.

What I forgot was when I used MakeMKV (& then Handbrake), the name of the file initially was The Polar Express disc 1, and as I was looking through the file, I went into properties > details of the movie, and saw the title was listed as The Polar Express disc 1 (even though the file name was The Polar Express), and as soon as I changed it to The Polar Express, the library then found it. 

Was not sure if this might be an simple issue that others may encounter.

Problems with scraping metadata.

The problem occured with Kodi 18.
Up to Kodi 17 the series that i mention were scrapped normally.

The Adventures of Tin Tin (1991) 
After the update to Kodi 18 it shows me 0 seasons 0 episodes

all the episodes are named as it should be lets say The Adventures of Tintin - s01e01 - The Crab with the Golden Claws (1).mkv

Folder
Anime/Series/Adventures of Tin Tin/Season 1 .... /Season 2
Video -> Source -> TVDB scrapper

tvshow.nfo that is on Adventures of Tin Tin Folder
