v17 - "Bodyguard (2018)" doesn't get properly recognised

Im running kodi 17.6 and my TV information provider is "The TVDB" (v3.0.9 by team kodi from the oficial repository) Im running on ubuntu 18.04.

In my TV directory I have a subdirectroy named "Bodyguard (2018)" (and its meant to point to this series) and within this there as the episodes named in the format "s01e01 Bodyguard (2018.mkv)".

When kodi adds these to the library, it names them as BG (2018)?

Am I doing something very stupid?

theaudiodb not scraping Artists Thumbnails

well in the starting it scraped the artists thumbnails but when i installed a fresh new one Windows. After that Kodi din't scraped a single artist thumbnail even if i tried manually , it showed no art when tried manually.

PS if i download artist thumbnails and insert them folder and choose them then it appears but its impossible to do for all artists as i have a huge collection. Any Help ??

Even so if its possible that i download all thumbnail then in that case is it possible that Kodi has any option that it scraps Artists thumbnail through the Artist folders where the songs are placed??

Folder name not being scrapped

Hi

After troubleshooting, if I use this folder name (inside I have the .mkv and the .nfo file with imdb url):

"Dina 2017 LIMITED Movies DVDRip x264 AAC with Sample"

movie is not recognized by scrapper

Anything else seems to work, like ""Dina 2017 LIMITED Movies DVDRip x264 AAC with Sampl", or ""Dina 2017 LIMITED Movies DVDRip x264 AAC with Sampla"

Logs don't say much.

What could the problem be?

Exporting library to individual files leads to degraded fanart over time.

Thus far I've been exporting my nfo and art to the respective folders using 'export library' and choosing 'individual files'. But what I've noticed is that doing so has introduced the unexpected behavior of a slowly degrading fanart images for all media. 2 questions:

1) was there some special way I should have gone about this to avoid this ? E.g. every time I'm wanting to export library, doing so twice: first time overwriting and NOT choosing to export fanart; and then the second time including fanart but not overwriting [ie. I want the nfos overwritten, but not the fanart etc.]
2) is there a way to refresh these images (rescrape) so the pixelated versions are replaced with new ones ? learning how to avoid the issue in the future is a first good step, but fixing the problem itself would also be great.

Thanks a lot !

Thetvdb : Show year issue

Hi everyone,

Currently, there's a known bug in thetvdb : the tv show first air date can't be set automatically with the first episode (see thread : https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=51248)

As a result, Kodi uses 1969 as the tv show year.

May I suggest to add some more checks in the scrapper, like "if no date is set for the tv show, find the first episode date and use it as the tvshow date" ? Like thetvdb should, but internally ?

That's of course just an idea, and I can understand it can be too much work for a problem with the data provider, but...

Anyway, thanks all for the job done!

All the best.

Smeulf.

Looking for a method to scrape by filename

Greetings,

I am trying to use the intelligent playlists in KODI as a way to play a filtered part of my videos. This failed so far.

I understand that the thing i want is not the KODI-way of life. Playlists work only in cooperation with the media library. The media library wants its information either from a .nfo or the internet. I do not want either. The Internet has no data for my Salsa Dance Videos. And creating .nfo with just the Filename seems stupid.

My solution so far was to try and write or adapt my own scraper. This also failed. The instructions I found for addon-development did not help. Error messages in KODI made me just try/guess/fail/retry. I do have a background in amateur programming. I think I understand the basics of what is happening between the xml and KODI.

My questions:
Is there a scraper out there simplified enough to build the library with just DB.title = <filename> for every file? OR
Can someone offer help in understanding the mechanics of a scraper? e. g.: Does a scraper have to do trigger a request to a website or can one have KODI omit this step?

Thanks in advance

Is there anyway to show TRIVIA if it was stored in the NFO file ?

Can't seem to find any info on if you can scrape Trivia .. if it was in the NFO is it hard for your skin to read it in and out to screen or is that a core Kodi thing ?

Movie scraper not working

Hi, every time when I add new movies, the universal movie scraper does not recognize them and I have to manually add them to my movie library by using the 'scan item to library' option for each individual movie. I've gone through all the existing threads on this, but I cannot figure it out.

Hi

Recently reinstalled a fresh copy of Kodi and, when I added my video folders, some episodes of some shows have not scraped despite the fact that they used to be fine.

Log file below. Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi,

for beggining, excuse me for my english level.

I use Kodi Krypton with my OC2 Box (LibreElec). I've got metadata.themoviedb.org in version 5.1.3.

The scrapper are not working now. When i check the log file ".kodi/temp/kodi.log", i've got error 401.
I try new version of metadata.themoviedb.org 5.1.4 but the result is the same.

v17 - TV scraper not updating new TV Shows

Hello,

I have just added the TV Show "Narcos" on my server with 3 seasons. I updated the library but it doesn't add it to the list of TV Shows. I added new items a couple of days ago and it worked fine, as usual. Any ideas what could be wrong? I have removed the folder from location, i have cleaned the library and tried updating it again, but nothing works.

I also noticed some recent seasons of TV Shows don't have any poster art. Maybe related, maybe not.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Missing Actors

Having a weird issue with TV show information screens. Not sure if this is even the right place to ask, so I apologize in advance should the root cause be something else.

So, as you know the TV show info screen has the cover on the left and on the top right there have always been the actors associated with the show or episode. Now something has changed that. Instead of the actor overview, just the TV show banner is shown in that space. When I refresh the show from the internet the actors come back. I have the feeling that in an unspecified interval they are being replaced again by a banner. It hasn't happened recently, though.

Is this something that is known and maybe there's a setting for it which I haven't understood? As far as I can see, I have no other add-ons which deal with artwork.

Thanks in advance!

Kodi Krypton / Fire TV - New episodes for existing series are not being added

$

Hi all,

I'm really struggling to fix this issue. The problem is:

The scraper will only add episodes if it is a brand new program. Any new episodes to a series are completely missed. I.e, if i add episode 2 and 3 to an existing episode 1, Kodi will not add them to the library.

Movies are added perfectly, and I can access all files via the file browser option.

I read that there was a TVDB database issue, however not only have I rescraped my whole library, I actually factory reset and wiped my whole Fire Tv and fresh installed Kodi, having deleted all the files with ADB as a precaution.

The problem still persists.

My files are located on a NAS, which Kodi streams from. I load my media via syncing the NAS with an external harddrive attached to my PC. I did replace my external hard drive recently, but cannot see why that should cause any issues as Kodi reads from the NAS not the hard drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is very frustrating to have the problem turn up out of the blue (a few months ago, Ive just been living with it until now) and not be able to solve it, even with a factory reset.

Thank you!

v18 - TMDB Scraper not scraping movies with (YYYY) suffix

Hey Guys,

Tried to rescrape my movie library today using TMDB. Weirdly enough it managed all movies except those with a year as a suffix e.g. Star Wars (1977).mkv

When pressing I to try and manually scrape it i get no information found for any of the movies with a suffix.
All other movies are fine and pressing I on those lets me do a more manual scrape.

I'm running LIbreelec Kodi 18 beta 3.

Any extra information that's needed please let me know.

Driving me crazy trying to work out why this isn't working.

Took a video of me demonstrating https://photos.app.goo.gl/EBNQLPiC7q5T6Khd7

v17 - TvDB scrapper not returning episodes informations anymore (but finding TV Shows ok)

$

Hi,

I can't get TVDB to return informations on episodes of TV shows anymore. If in files view I go to the TV show's folder then do a "scan to library" it finds the show's title fine but after I select it it doesn't do anything else like it used to do. The info screen is empty and no episode information is available (as well as actors, posters, etc.).

It used to work really well. I also tried to do a refresh on a show already scrapped correctly and lost all informations, unable to get it back since. Tried to clean the library and remove/add sources again but to no avail.

Here's the log file trying to do a "scan to library" followed by a refresh on the same show. The show I tried with is the anime "Gurren Lagann" (but same problem with at least two others which were ok before) : https://pastebin.com/T2CvGzPF

Thanks for your help !

EDIT : OK, so after going through the log I was intrigued by this line :
Quote:16:53:30.897 T:7856 DEBUG: VideoInfoScanner: Skipping dir 'smb://RLX-LINUX/smbshare/sda1/Medias/Animes/Gurren Lagann (2007).720p/' due to no change

even after I remove the source folder and cleaned the library. So I removed the source again and renamed the folder on the drive by adding a letter, then add a new source choosing that folder and the scrapping magically worked again like it always did.

I'm not sure why but it seems the cleaning of the libary failed until I rename the folder so Kodi/the scrapper would finally see something had changed and perform a fully new scan.

But if I select the Gurren Lagann folder again and choose "change content" to change the scrapper it still won't find/look for episodes' info, like before. Changing the scrapper back to TVDB : still nothing and back to square one.

Scrapping Issue

Hi all,

I've been having a problem recently scrapping new tv shows.  Specifically The Conners and The Rookie.  I checked The TVDB and both shows exist.

Relevant section of debug log:  https://paste.kodi.tv/udutobafir.kodi
Relevant section of debug log from successful scrape of a different show:  https://paste.kodi.tv/qogivuroqu.kodi

Any thoughts?  I know that there was an issue with The TVDB recently, but I thought they were all resolved.  The TVDB version is 3.0.12.  Looks like it's getting a 404 error.

Movie scrapper not picking certain films

I'm trying to run a new build using LibreElec, I have installed the software and updated my libraries but for some reason the universal movie scraper can't locate metadata for;

Family Guy Presents Blue Harvest
Family Guy Presents Something, something dark side
Family Guy Presents Its a Trap
Dirty Sanchez The Movie

I have made sure the scrapper is fully updated and I used the latest version LibreElec for a media build using Intel chip set.

Its odd as all of the above can be found on my old OpenElec build, which I'm still using until I finish my new build on LibreElec (bonus of using two hard drives 😎)

v18 - Extended Artwork Loading

Hello @rmrector

PR13859 - https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/13859
Build - KodiSetup-20181023-c77874c5-master-x64

I installed the above build to test out the newly merged PR. I used my existing NFO Files and local artwork on a portable install and tested with Transparency! and Aeon Nox Silvo skins.

I added the following to my advancedsettings.xml file
	<videolibrary>
<tvshowextraart>
<arttype>banner</arttype>
<arttype>characterart</arttype>
<arttype>clearart</arttype>
<arttype>clearlogo</arttype>
<arttype>discart</arttype>
<arttype>landscape</arttype>
<arttype>logo</arttype>
</tvshowextraart>
<tvseasonextraart>
</tvseasonextraart>
<episodeextraart>
</episodeextraart>
<movieextraart>
<arttype>banner</arttype>
<arttype>clearart</arttype>
<arttype>clearlogo</arttype>
<arttype>discart</arttype>
<arttype>landscape</arttype>
<arttype>logo</arttype>
</movieextraart>
</videolibrary>

All Basic and Extended artwork was loaded and visible using the different views from the two installed skins. Checking the Choose Art screen for a number of Movies and TV Shows also showed artwork had been loaded correctly, with two exceptions.

1. I have been using Artwork Beef, so I had renamed all my disc images to discart in accordance with your requirements. Using this advancedsettings.xml method, discart is not recognised by the skins. Though the discart image is loaded, it is not displayed and I have to rename the files back to disc and add the new art type disc. Is there a workaround for this?
2. I added banner to the tvshowextrart. I have duplicated banner entries in the Choose Art screen.

Image

I have not gone to the extent of applying specific season and episode art to my library, except for season posters which is standard. Where is Kodi expecting to see season and episode artwork? In the TV Show folder or is there a requirement for Season and Episode folders to use this (assuming skins support it). Depending on its location, how should it be named?

What does this mean for Artwork Beef?

Thanks for yours and @DaveBlake 's work on this Smile

---Edit---
Oops, forgot to enable discart in Settings in the Aeon Nox Silvo skin.
Transparency! still requires disc.png
