NFO Format Change?

$

For some reason I was reading some of my NFO files (created by Media Companion) and I noticed that under actors, the newer files have a http link to a thumbnail image, like this

 <actor>
<id>0601553</id>
<name>Mandy Moore</name>
<role>Lisa</role>
<thumb>https://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTY5NTEzNDgzOF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNTMwNjk4Nw@@._V1._SY400_SX300_.jpg</thumb>
<order>1</order>
</actor>

Older NFO files just have

<thumb>
</thumb>

The link seems to point to the exact same image that is in my .actors folder. What I don't know is if it still downloads the image, or is this a new method meant to save space or something?
If it's better, I could see having MC redo all of the files. If it's all the same, I can ignore it.

What I also wonder is how Kodi treats the actor files. I have all my movies, and ancillary files on a central NAS, but am using a number of FireTVs to access the collection. Does Kodi bring over all of the actor files and store them locally on each device, or does it access them a few at a time as needed? I'm asking because I already have about 1700 actors taking up around 43MB and I wonder at what point might it over tax the FireTVs.

Emby/Kodi scraping issues

v18 - Scrapers not working on Leia Alpha 2

Good evening

Yesterday I installed the 64bit Version of Kodi 18 on Win10 and up to now it couldn't create a library because when the scrapers want to scan I get the error "Unable to connect to remote server..."

The Add-On Versions for IMDB is 2.0.5 and 5.1.1 (don't know why I have 2 of them... found 2 in your add-on section) and for TVDB it is 3.0.6. Had to update manually as the autoupdate didn't work. I installed the new Versions only in the 2nd installation.

I also made 2 second installation of Kodi cause I thaught maybe the first screwed up, but no effect. I allowed Kodi a path through the windows firewall, no effect.
The system information of Kodi says the internet connection is running, although I couldn't verify that cause I couldn't install the youtube add-on or a weather add-on (error while installing). So I don't have any more clues what to do.

The latest logfile is here.

Maybe an older 32bit version would work but as I run the 64bit version of Win10 i'd rather not.

Bug - TVDB 3.0.6 Scrapper not working with seasons

Adding new shows, refreshing, and also removing a show and adding it back in results in multiple entries being scrapped as Season 1.
My files are named with Sxx Exx format. TVDB settings are also NOT set to absolute or dvd order. In the following log I have a show which has specials (named season 0) containing 4 episodes and also two different seasons which both contain 24 each.
A scenario where all files are placed in the same folder and one where they are seperated into folders marking seasons are both resulting in the behavior mentioned above.

Scans appear to start around line 1260

Hi,

Hope you can help with this.

I suddenly couldn't refresh my TV Shows anymore. Movie scraping works fine.

Running Kodi 17.3 and TVDB Add-on 3.0.6.

What I've tried:
- Remove the source and add it again
- Reset OpenElec
- Format the SD Card and install from scratch

Here is the log file: https://pastebin.com/jq8CS9YR

I seem to specifically get the error:

Code:
ERROR: Run: Unable to parse web site

And when I pick one of the api URLs at random, such as:

Code:

Hi There When I scrape some new tv series  they show up as watched. Is there any way that I can fix this or even change them from watched to unwatched

v17 - How to ensure proper scraping of entire Sherlock Holmes (1984) with Jeremy Brett

$

Can anyone tell me how I should set up the 41 episodes of the Granada TV series of Sherlock Holmes that I ripped from DVD's? I originally set it up into the various directories for "Adventures of...", "Return of...", "Case-Book of..." and "Memoirs of..." with each of the seasons within each directory (all named according to IMDB), but the TV scraper can only find the first 6 episodes of the "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". And it also doesn't find the TV movies ("Hounds of the Baskervilles", "Sign of the Four").

If anyone has been able to get these scraped into their TV library on Kodi can you share how you did it?

Thanks

Foreign movies: movie and poster not found

$

Hello,

I own english movies and foreign movies. What I would like: if I have a french movie, the path of the movie contains the french name and the poster will be also in french.
I don't know if it can work like that. Some movies are detected, some not and for other I can't get the poster in french. My scrapper is the following:

Scrapper: the movie database

Settings:

Keep original title: on
Enable Fanart: on
Enable Trailer: on
Preferred language: en
Preferred certification country: us
Defaut rating from: Imdb
Add also Imdb rating: off

Content and scanning options:

Movies are in separate folders that match the movie title: off
Scan recursively: on
Exclude path from library updates: off

I have rescan my library, but I had to cut the log file, because it was to big. I hope I didn't cut some important information. The
log is: https://pastebin.com/qq8P9EcU

There are two cases:

1. The movie "Back to Burgundy". The path contains the title in french: "Ce qui nous lie". Movie db: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/432087-...uage=de-DE

The original title is the french title. The poster is found un kodi but it is  in english. If I try to change the Poster, I can't find a french version in kodi, but there are several version on the database.
How can I get the french version ?

2. The movie "Do not Disturb". The path contains the title in french: "Une heure de tranquilité". Movie db: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/298614-une-heure-de-tranquillit?language=de-DE
The original title is the french title and it exists. Kodi don't find the movie. Perhaps it as to do with the "é".

I want to keep the language "english" because for a lot of movies it's perfectly ok.

Thank you for your help!

This has been going on for a while, finally getting around to fixing it. Just updated TMDB a few minutes ago, didn't fix it.

Found this in my logs but it doesn't seem helpful:

The error is "Unable to connect to remote server"

I found a thread about this but it involved libreelec and it sounded like I'd need to reinstall the OS -- that sounds off.

I've been adding a lot of episodes to my system but the last batch is failing to be matched by Kodi's scraper.

'Scan to library' corrupted

Hi,
I'm new to the forum but not new to Kodi.
I have Kodi installed on a PC and also on my android TV box. My media library is stored on a network drive.
Yesterday I added some episodes of Game of Thrones onto the network drive. These were added to the Kodi library on my PC with no problem, but the android box fails to recognise them correctly. When I try to scan the folder to the library manually I am given the following four choices:

Hip Hop Tribe 2: Game of Thrones (2016)
Game of Thrones","slug":"game-of-thrones (2011)
Game of Thrones cartoon parody","slug":"
Tribe of Hip Hop","slug":"

I tried to clean and refresh the media library and the word ","slug":" appeared on almost every item and the folder then disappeared from my library.
My only option seemed to be a factory reset of Kodi.
I assume that ","slug":" is some kind of malicious code but have no idea how to prevent this from happening again. Please help someone?

Sometimes the TV scraper just stops working...

I have 5 systems running Kodi off of the same SMB shares.

Intermittently one of them (or sometimes two of them) will stop scrapping either TV shows or Movies and I end up removing the ~/.kodi folder and starting from scratch.

Here is a link to a logfile of one system that just isn't scrapping new TV episodes now.  Any help would be severely appreciated. (Other Kodi systems on my network have no problems scraping those files currently, BTW.)

Scraping for particular episodes of a TV Shows

$

Hi,

From my reading, it seems it's not possible to include in a .nfo file info to identify a particular tvshow. For instance, include a link like:

https://www.thetvdb.com/series/once-upon...des/316492

I undestand the only way to indentify a show is for the tvshow file to have the right name.

I have a name like 'Zhila-byla.zhizn.(02.serija.iz.26).Rozhdenie.1987.XviD.DVDRip.avi'

Is there a way of using the '02' to mean 'S01E02'?
Or is there a way of including this info in a .nfo file?

thetvdb scrapper v2 - URl in nfo file

$

Hi,

previously I created my nfo files that way to set a custom folder name (to match the original name and not the english one) and specify the thetvdb url so the scrapper would find the show

<tvshow>
  <title>Custom name</title>
</tvshow>
https://www.thetvdb.com/series/english_name

however this does not work anymore (seems like the new API does not find the custom url data anymore) and my newly added shows aren't updated

How can I make this work with the new tvdb scrapper ?

Solved - Episode naming for TVDB - how to name specials for absolute order?

$

Hello all,

I'm trying to get my library organized and I'm having some problems with absolute order. TV/DVD order works as expected, but absolute order is having some problems when it comes to specials.

Let me use a show called Black Lagoon as an example. Let's say I'm using DVD order, with filenames like this.

Black Lagoon - 1x01 - Episode Title
Black Lagoon - 1x02 - Episode Title
...
Black Lagoon - 2x01 - Episode Title
Black Lagoon - 2x02 - Episode Title
...
Black Lagoon - 0x01 - SpecialTitle
Black Lagoon - 0x02 - SpecialTitle
...

If I do that, everything is fine. But orders other than absolute aren't really great when dealing with anime, so I decided to try switching. Suppose I use absolute and my naming looks like this.

Black Lagoon - 1x01 - Episode Title
Black Lagoon - 1x02 - Episode Title
...
Black Lagoon - 0x01 - SpecialTitle
Black Lagoon - 0x02 - SpecialTitle

So all the main series episodes are named as 1x___ and all the specials are named as 0x___, with absolute ordering. Now if I do that, the main series scrapes just fine. However, the specials don't show up. Tried a similar scheme with a couple shows, same result.

Bottom line. When using absolute ordering, how should I name specials?

Split episode second part missing

$

I have the series The Office (US) which regularly has split episodes. According to the thetvdb website each part has its own episode number, which is how I've named my files (I am using the default scraper for thetvdb). For instance:
The.Office S05E14 - Lecture Circuit Part 1[720p].mkv
The.Office S05E15 - Lecture Circuit Part 2 [720p].mkv
The.Office S06E04 - Niagara Part 1 [720p].mkv
The.Office S06E05 - Niagara Part 2 [720p].mkv

Each episode is in its correct episode folder and the episode folders is in the correct TV series folder. The scraper seemingly works without a problem. In Kodi though for the sixth season split episode the second file is ignored. The fifth season split episode doesn't have this problem: episode 14 and 15 are displayed in that order with that episode number in Kodi. For season six however the files are renumbered. The 6th episode becomes the 5th, the 7th becomes the 6th, etc. The second part of the split episode is left from the Kodi episode list completely and the season numbering is changed from the original numbering that is on the thetvdb website. The split episode is still in two files though, so the second part is gone from the kodi list.

tl;dr:
my files have split episodes as two files
thetvdb has the two parts of a split episode as two separately numbered episodes.
for season six kodi only displays the first part of a split episode, and numbers the season differently as thetvdb where it's supposed to scrape from

How can I get kodi to match the season numbering from thetvdb?
