Movies have stopped being scraped, despite being viewable in library

$

I have used Kodi for a number of years now, but consider myself a very basic user.

I have a Windows server in my house, with two HDDs, one of which contains my movies, the other my television shows. I currently use SMB because when setting up I wasn't sure how to make UpNp follow along with the skin settings which I liked and could only access it by going into my settings and opening up library.

Lately all of a sudden, movies have stopped adding themselves from my library unless I go in to the video library and select "Scan to library" it will successfully add the movie, but otherwise when adding a movie to my library and then updating, it will only update my TV shows, fully ignoring movies.

I have read a number of other threads and attempted the solutions in those threads, to no avail.

I have attached my logfile, which I hope is the right one and I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Scraper scrapes some shows but not others in the same series

I can not figure it out.  I have a legal subscription to a cable network and I record a certain program which is VERY popular right now.  I name it like I name everything else.  Put it in the file structure like I do everything else and yet when Kodi scrapes it's not adding the first 2 latest episodes of the season.  Am I missing something?

Special characters in artist names or song titles

$

Hello!

I'm using TheAudioDb.com Music Video Scraper.

You know, for having matches it is necessary to have the corresponding string in the file name. "?" is common in song titles but not in file names as not every file system allows it.
But how can I fetch titles from an artist named "Au/Ra"? If omitting the slash or replacing it with something else no TADB record is found. Is there anything I can do? (except writing a NFO file)

The scraper seems to dislike the plus sign. I struggle to fetch information for "Florence + the Machine" songs. How can I do that?

I think, I've read something about some time ago, but I can't find anything now.
Hope, you can help!

Best wishes
Ernst

The Three Stooges has 3-digit specials: S00E108, S00E156, etc.
Items with less than 3 digits are scraped to year 1 AND into specials.
The format of the scraped episode names is funky : S02. Nertsery Rhymes, S156. The Three Stooges Festival, etc.

Any help appreciated.

New TV series Fosse/Verdon Fails to Add to Library using TVDB

$

I'm trying to add the new FX series Fosse/Verdon to my Kodi library, unfortunately no matter what I try I can't get it add the episodes.

My first assumption was that it had to do with how Sonarr was renaming the directory/files to "Fosse+Verdon" instead of "Fosse/Verdon", most likely because it doesn't like the backslash in a filename. However even if I manually go in and change the directory and episode filenames to "Fosse Verdon" or "Fosse/Verdon" it still will not import into my TV library in Kodi after scrapping TVDB.

This show is on TVDB as well - https://www.thetvdb.com/series/fosse-verdon/seasons/all

I've never run into this before, so I'm pretty perplexed on what to do. Anyone have ideas?

Any NFO gurus here ?

I use WMC-7 to record TV shows for years. So today I ran the KODI tool Missing Movies and after a scan of missing episodes showed 100's missing.
A lot where empty NFO files so I have to rescan them with Ember Media Manager to fetch the NFO.

But I have a lot that have NFO's that have info here is a sample

A real strange scraper issue

Kodi 17.6 - database is stored in MySql.

I'm using the Universal Movie Scraper...it is fully up to date.

I never have issues scraping movies or TV shows.  Eveything is always named correctly beforehand

I already have a BluRay of The Force Awakens in my library...it is titled -  Star Wars - The Force Awakens (2015).bluray

It scanned into my library fine and shows up in my library as I woud expect it to.

I have recently obtained a fan edit of the same movie...The file name is as below

Star Wars - The Force Awakens Restructured (2015).mkv

When I do a usual library scan it isnt picked up.   If I go into the files seciton I can see the file...I seach for info and it finds the movie.  I then select it and it returns with LOADING MOVIE DETAILS and then NO INFORMATION FOUND!

I have tried using the Missing Movies add on but I get the same results.

I have tried renaming the file and and get the same results.

I have tried creating an NFO file with the correct movie info in it and get a result when it just goes straight to the NO INFORMATION FOUND! result.

I have even renamed the file to exactly the same same as the one that is currently in my library but in a different folder, with the same result

If I pick a totally different title (returned from the search)...any of the other options works fine and adds the movie to the library as that item.

I have tried using ther IMDB scraper and get the same result.

It is as if all of the scrfapers no longer know the film exists.

every single other items scrapes without issue...everything else in the system is working fine.

This is happening on three separately installed instances of Kodi 17.6 on three different Windows PCs.

I have tried rebooting all machines, I have tried rebooting the server where the media is stored and the MySQL database resides

Everything else works fine....

I dont want to remove the existing bluray version from the librayin case I cant put it back

What is going on?

v17 - Babylon 5 - Season 3 isn't scrapping properly

Hello. This is my first time post into the forum, so apologies in advance if this isn't the right place to post.

I've been ripping my Babylon 5 DVD sets, and everything has worked great when scraping data from TheTVDB. But when I got to S03E12 I noticed that the title and thumbnail didn't match the actual episode. So I checked the airdate vs dvd order, and they are both the same. But for some reason it swaped out episode 12 and 13 with each other.

I assumed it's just a glitch, and physically removed both files from the folder, went back into kodi, and cleaned out library. I closed kodi, moved the two files back into the right folder and ran kodi. But now it can't pick up the two episodes. I rebooted my system, and tried again, but now Kodi is ignoring those two files.

On top of that I noticed that Episode 16 is also wrong. It's showing me the information for a later episode in the season, but perhaps that is all part of the same problem.

Here is my latest Debug log.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

v18 - Certain movies refuse to scape

Forgive me if this has been asked before but I can't seem to find an answer using the search feature.

I recently switched from Plex to Kodi 18.2 and I've added my full-length movies as one source and my short films as a separate source, both identified as "Movies" (it dumps them all in the same library in the main menu but I can live with that).  Some of the movies were not found when I did a "Scan for new content" search. using the Universal Movie Scraper.  When I went into the "Shorts" source and pressed "i" on my keyboard, it popped up the "Manual Search" option, allowing me to go onto IMDB and grab the "tt" code.  However, it doesn't allow me to do the same for my full-length movies.  All I get is a message saying "No information found".  I have even tried changing the Information Provider for the individual title to The Movie Database and, while it worked for a handful of the titles (like maybe 5 out of about 30), the rest come back with the same "No information found" message.

What I find odd is that it isn't like these are obscure titles - "2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)", "A Good Day to Die Hard (2013)", "Brokedown Palace (1999)", "Cocoon (1985)" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015)" are just some of the titles I'm having difficulty with; in fact, my short films are more obscure because I have a lot of art cinema stuff in there - and other titles in the same sets as these I have mentioned - "Cocoon: The Return (1998)" and all the other Fast  & Furious films - are scaping without a hassle.  Besides, I am able to find the problem titles on IMDB but Kodi flat-out refuses to give me the option of identifying them manually with the "tt" code.

I have tried reinstalling Kodi 3 times on this machine as well as installing Kodi on a different machine and I keep having the same trouble.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I really don't want to have to go back to Plex.

v17 - Scraper / Library trouble

Hi everyone,

For some reason I can’t add certain movies to my library, for example the movie:Hallo allemaal,

Cliniclowns Presenteert Circus Cliniclowns

In the main folder I have created a folder with the name Cliniclowns Presenteert Circus Cliniclowns in which is the file: Cliniclowns Presenteert Circus Cliniclowns.MKV

I have done this for other movies as well and usually it finds the titel as long as its an exact match with the title on TMDB. Which is as well in this case:

https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/601153-...liniclowns

However when I want to add this file to my library, I get the message to rename the file.

Anyone has an idea how I can add this title (and others) to my library including the correct fanart on TMDB?

Thanks a lot!

Broken - The TVDB | Missing series ratings after scraping

$

Hey guys,

I'm facing some weird behavior of TheTVDB scrapers.

https://kodi.tv/addon/tv-information/tvdb

In version 3.0.15 I'm unable to get series ratings at all (e.g. Chernobyl). I'm also unable to get an episode rating for any episode I've checked.

However if I'm switching back to let's say version 2.0.17, I still don't getting series ratings, but some episode ratings. That's even stranger - some episodes always working, some never.

It doesn't matter if I'm using TheTVDB or IMDb as the rating source.

Any ideas?

Cannot get new moviedb entry to scrape in Kodi

I added an new entry to themoviedb and I cannot for the life of me get it to scrape in Kodi. It scraped without any issues using MetaX so I'm not sure what Kodi's issue is with it. I tried the The Movie Database Add-on and Universal Movie Scraper Add-on. I have linked the entry down below.

(2017-12-05, 08:29)Karellen Wrote: It looks like your naming is ok, as far as I can tell.

We will need to look at the Debug Log to see why Kodi is skipping them

  1. Go to Settings>System Settings>Logging then enable Debugging mode. Should be the first option
  2. Restart Kodi
  3. Replicate the problem. Run an Update Library.
  4. Upload the results to https://pastebin.com/ or https://paste.ubuntu.com/ and post the link back here.

I have recently noticed this issue happening as well. It seems to happen with everything *new* that I add to library. Usually, I'll manually scan to library only the new items. It has failed every time, except a couple days ago, and I cannot recall what I did to make it successfully scan those items.

I have tried updating my scraper add ons, and that fails constantly, no matter what it is, including all dependencies. (I I should also note here, that I cannot delete the Addons27.db file in an attempt to clean up the database for my add ons)

Here is my log result. Please advise? Thank you in advance!

TVDB not scraping a specific show

Hi

Using Kodi 18.1 on Windows 7.
I am very familiar with Kodi's numbering system and I am using it to scrape tv shows and movies for more than a couple of years now.
I had an empty folder for a show for a long while and now I got a special episode for it and its scraping the episode but not the show (folder).

The episode is scrapped with all relevant info including artwork but not the actual show's folder as its not appearing in the TV show menu.

Not sure whats the issue here and whatever info is required I will surely try to provide.

EDIT - hope this helps

Hi there. Recently Kodi has stopped running my TV series scraper when doing a library update. I've tried both TVDB and TMDB with no difference.

Here's a part of my debug log (couldn't upload all of it due to size)

There's alot of this for some reason. Don't know what that means. Any help is appreciated.

WIP - early Python TheMovieDB movie scraper

ImagePython TheMovieDB Scraper for Movies

Site used: https://www.themoviedb.org/
Status: Working for Kodi v18 and later.

About
Python TheMovieDB scraper for Movies is an early version of a Python scraper (wiki) for Movies and Movie Collections used by KODI.
The scraper relies on matching your folder and filenames to movie titles at TheMovieDB site. For this reason, it is important to ensure your folders and files are correctly and cleanly named for an accurate scrape.

This is an early version of this scraper and it is early days for Python scrapers in general, so this is available mostly for use testing. Please do test and give it a try and evaluate the speed and info it sets and whatever.

This add-on uses tmdbsimple for integrating with TMDB and for the short term it is included directly in the add-on source for evaluation and simpler one-download testing. This first version also has an older version of tmdbsimple (1.5.0) as included in the original PR.

Python scrapers are missing one notable feature in general at the moment, source and path specific settings. You must change scraper settings at Settings>Add-ons>My Add-ons>Information Providers>Movie information for them to take effect. This is pretty harsh so probably think of these Python scrapers as experimental and maybe the interface will be redesigned, but we can still give them a good testing to see how everything else works out.

This scraper will download the following:
Artwork: Poster and Fanart URLs for Movie and Movie Sets, Actor image URLs.
Metadata: Numerous.

And Karellen was nice enough to already quickly break QA Laugh this, so here is a list of other things we currently know don't match the XML scrapers:

1. IMDB Ratings not retrieved
2. No Set Overview is scraped
3. Multiple Studios returned that breaks Studio Icon lookup
4. Parsing NFO File does not work

And then a "stretch" list of possible new features that should be easy enough to add

5. Allow user edit MPAA prefix
6. IMDB Top 250

Really love Kodi but recently I have run into a problem.
I am running the latest official version of Kodi and I have scraped all my tv shows. The problem is that for 1 scraped program it shows the metadata but says there ore no seasons or episodes. Yet the actual video files are in my source and can be watched from there, they just dont show up in my tv menu.

Any and all help appreciated

Around 1/5 of the movies are not named when I scan. I tried with TMDB, universal scraper, IMBD... I am totally sure that I have the source well set, the network config also, the addons are updated, the titles well written, only works when I parsed .nfo files, but so much work to do one .nfo for one movie...
The message that scrapper says is:"loading details of the movie 0%. . . . . . . Not info was found"
Anyone can help me with that please?? Thank you

Stupid movie scraper stops working on my Rasperry Pi after upgrading to kodi 18.02

Hi forum.

I'm having problem with the scraper "stupid movie database" that I found years ago and has been doing the job fine for my by just adding the filename into the library. (I have a lot of unknown short film and documentary that I wanted to have in my library).

But now after upgrading my kodi on my Rasperry to 18.02 its stops working and have the message "cannot connect to remote server".
Downgrading to 18.01, its fine again.

So what has been introduced in the 18.02 that tha scraper dosnt like on the rasperry?

I have made the same installation on a windows 10 PC and here the scraper works fine on 18.02.

I hope that there is some one that can find the problem:

Here is the scraper code:
